Welcome to Grand Ledge Area Youth Football & Cheer! We are excited for another incredible season and canβt wait to see your athlete on the field! Below is everything you need to know to prepare for the season.

π₯ Player Physicals β REQUIRED

Due: First night of conditioning (August 11, 2025)
β οΈ Your child will NOT be able to practice without a completed physical form!
π‘οΈ Equipment Handout (By Appointment Only)

Dates: July 20, July 27, August 3 and August 10
β° Times: 5:00-8:00 PM
π Location: Marsh Field
β οΈ IMPORTANT EQUIPMENT HANDOUT POLICIES:

Equipment will NOT be handed out without a scheduled appointment.
β
You MUST only show up at your scheduled appointment time.
β
Parents/Guardians are NOT allowed inside the equipment shed during fittings.
β
Coaches & Board Members will handle the fitting process to ensure everything is properly sized and tried on.
β
If an item needs to be exchanged, you MUST contact your coach, who will coordinate with a board member to schedule a time for a swap.
β
All equipment will have a barcode and be scanned out this season for improved inventory tracking.

πββοΈ First Week of Practice β "Conditioning"

Dates: August 11-August14
π Schedule: Monday - Thursday | 6:00 - 8:00 PM
π Check-in Opens: 5:00 PM
πΉ Athletes will practice with their grade level.
πΉ If there are enough players for two teams per grade, coaches will conduct a draft to divide teams (Date: TBD).

MHSAA Physical Form β Signed by a healthcare provider, parent/guardian, AND the participant. Must be dated April 15, 2025, or later.
β
Concussion Form β Please print, complete, and bring with all signatures.
β οΈ Your child will NOT be able to participate until these forms are submitted.
π Practice Schedule After Conditioning Week
βοΈ Athletes will wear full equipment after completing 8 hours of practice in the first week.
βοΈ Practice Schedule:
πΉ 4 days a week until school starts.
πΉ 3 days a week once school begins.
βοΈ Exact practice times will be set by coaches and announced once teams are finalized (Date: TBD).
ποΈ Game Days β Saturdays!
π Home Games: Played at Marsh Field
π Away Games: Hosted by other local schools (Field Locations can be found here).
β οΈ Always refer to your coachβs updates for any schedule changes.

First Game: Typically, the first Saturday after Labor Day (TBD by MMPFL).
β οΈ GLAYF does NOT set the schedule β all game dates/times are determined by the league.
π Homecoming Parade
π GLAYF & GLAYC will participate in the 2025 Grand Ledge Homecoming Parade!

Homecoming Date: TBD (More details will be provided by your coach).
π Volunteer Expectations β We Need Your Help!
GLAYF & GLAYC is a 100% volunteer-run organization and relies on parents to keep the program running successfully.
ALL PARENTS ARE EXPECTED TO VOLUNTEER at least once during the season.
πΉ Volunteer Opportunities:

Concessions β Support both GLAYF/GLAYC & Middle School Football (Sign-Up Genius will be available once schedules are released).
β
Chain Gang β 3 volunteers needed per home game.
β
Field Setup (First Game of the Day) β Includes flag setup, trash bags, field markers, goalpost cushions, concession setup, chain gang equipment, and restroom prep.
β
Field Cleanup (Last Game of the Day) β Includes flag removal, trash collection, field cleanup (home & visitor sides), restroom cleanup, and concession stand closing.
β
Team Parent β 1-2 parents per team to assist the coach with communication and team needs.
