Welcome to Grand Ledge Area Youth Cheer!
Weβre excited for another amazing season and can't wait to see our cheerleaders bring their energy and spirit to the field! Below is everything you need to know to prepare for the season.
π Important Cheer Information
ποΈ First Week of Cheer
π All grades practice together
π
Dates: August 11, 2025
π Location: Marsh Field (Across from Neff School on Jenne Street)
πΉ On the first day of practice, please meet at the concession stand area for team assignments.
π Required Forms β Due on the First Day of Practice
π Paperwork Drop-Off: 5:30 - 6:00 PM
π Parent Meeting: 6:30 PM
β οΈ No athlete can participate without submitting the required forms! No exceptions.
β
MHSAA Physical Form β Signed by a healthcare provider, parent/guardian, and the participant. (Must be dated on or after April 15, 2025).
β
Concussion Form β Please print and complete with all required signatures before drop-off.
π Second Week of Cheer
π All grades practice together

Dates: August 18, 2025
π Third Week & Beyond
πΉ Teams will begin separate practices.
πΉ Practice days and times will be determined by the coaches for each grade.
πΉ Coaches will communicate schedules to parents via TeamReach.
ποΈ Game Days β Saturdays!
π Home Games: Played at Marsh Field
π Away Games: Hosted by other local schools (Refer to the Field Locations tab, but always follow updates from your coach).

First Game: Typically the first Saturday after Labor Day (TBD by MMPFL).
β οΈ GLAYF does NOT set the schedule β game schedules are determined by the league.
π Homecoming Parade
π
Date: TBD
π GLAYF & GLAYC has participated in the Grand Ledge Homecoming Parade in the past and plans to continue this tradition! More details will be provided by your coach.
π Volunteer Expectations β We Need Your Help!
GLAYF & GLAYC is a 100% volunteer-run organization, and we rely on parents to keep the program running smoothly. All parents are expected to volunteer at least once during the season.
πΉ Volunteer Opportunities:

Concessions: Support the GLAYF/GLAYC and Middle School Football programs (A sign-up link will be available when schedules are released).
β
Field Setup (First Game of the Day): Flag setup, trash collection, pop-can recycling, field markers, goalpost cushions, concession stand prep, restroom setup, etc.
β
Field Cleanup (Last Game of the Day): Flag removal, trash collection, field cleanup (home & visitor sides), restroom cleanup, concession stand closing, etc.
β
Team Parent: 1-2 parents per team to assist the coach with team communication and logistics.

π£ Volunteers & Coaching
Each cheer squad needs a coach and a team parent! This is a great opportunity to get involved, meet other parents, and support your childβs team.
πΉ If you have a specific team or coach request (e.g., pairing with a friend for transportation reasons or following a football team for family reasons), we will do our best to accommodate one request per child.
